dear friends in Christ. . .greetings!

"Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands." ---Psalm 119:73

this verse brings me great comfort. so often i am 'wanting/needing' to do MORE as a Christian. feeling that i should be doing more. . .
in my walk with Jesus, i keep an eye open for chances to do something Christlike, something to glorify God. you know, small things like giving a ride to someone i don't know . . .she's a church member, lives nearby, and she doesn't have a car. yesterday i happened to learn that she needed to go to the city, so i got her # and offered to take her.
"Oh but dear, I can't give you any $$$ for gas. I really must go but I'll find another way. It's very nice of you though."
i fibbed, "well it so happens that i have to go, and i'd love the company. would you care to go with me?"
so off we went, this delightful elderly lady and i. she's 77 yrs young. it was a long day, why, Ellen had to go EVERYWHERE! and she needed help with EVERYTHING!
folks, i was pooped out half way thru!
Ellen has cancer. she lives alone. her family lives in distant towns and don't visit her. she knows few ppl here.
so i have myself a new friend, a friend who needs me.

just one reason i am comforted to know that God is in control of my life, my desire to do things that will please my Father. . .i think of that vs from Psalm, ". . .give me understanding to do your commands."
all i have to do is pay attention, listen for the whisper from the Holy Spirit. . .and by golly, God WILL give me understanding! He will show me little things that i can do for others, things that Jesus would do.
sure i was tired @ the end of a 6-7 hr day. . .but it was worth it! i had a great night's sleep knowing that Ellen will be calling me again for a ride somewhere! or to go have coffee. . .!
loving Jesus isn't meant to be a burden.
our Lord gives us directions, instructions, He shows us the way.

DEAR BONNIE,
IT DOES NOT MATTER TO ME HOW MANY TIMES IT TAKES TO REPLY. WHOSE COUNTING?
AT LEAST YOU ANSWERED OTHERS WOULD JUST PASS ON OVER IT.I APPRECIATE THE REPLIES I NEED HELP AND SUGGESTIONS ON TRYING TO GET TO KNOW MY BEST FRIEND BETTER.

That was such a good word Marion and the keys just really hit hime with me. the lord has been showing me keys for a long time. It always reminds me of the verse, and I will give you the keys to the kingdom and whatsoever you bind on earth will be bond in heaven and whatsoever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven

I have found that whenever I hear God he makes me foregive people first. I find that most anoying at times. It is like the word of God is so Holy that our souls have to be purified before we can enter in through the door of the temple. When I knock on the door it is like God is saying "You are welcome but you have to use the key I gave you. If you don't use it you can only hear me from the outside. There you will have to strain your ears. Concentrate harder on what I might be saying. Sometimes you will be guessing according to your own understanding. I am still here but will seem distant. You will feel excluded from what is really happening. My presence will be working from a memory of when you were last inside. My comfort will be from memory. My power will be like Old Testament History. All you need to do to come in is to let go of unforgiveness. Why do you think that is so hard to do.? Think of what you will gain by letting it go. My very presence. You may come in and sit on my lap. Play with my beard with your fingers. Touch my face and hear my heartbeat as you put your ear to my chest. Is it a good exchange.?
Have no fear I WILL give you the wisdom you seek. The power to fullfil it. The result to award it. Come enter my Holy Place but leave your dirty shoes outside. When you leave again you will have new shoes to put on and the old ones will be gone.
So why do you hold those door keys so tight in your hands that they leave an imprint. ?
You can make do with hearing through the door and I will never turn you away. But at what cost. Is the unforgiveness worth it.?"
When God speaks He is always changing us. We never stay the same.

Sometimes people say to me, "I wish I had your faith." or " I wish I could hear God like you."
They do not understand the price I pay.
To die to self.
Not everyone will.
So they listen from afar.
I die daily, so it is not I that lives, but Christ who lives in me.

This is simple but oh sooo deep.
